Xeroflox Eye Drop contains ofloxacin, an antibiotic used to treat eye infections caused by bacteria such as conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers. This medicine stops the growth of bacteria by inhibiting the gyrase enzyme and thereby helps reduce bacterial eye infections. This medicine is not effective for treating viral infections. About Xeroflox Eye Drop

Xeroflox Eye Drop is used to treat bacterial eye infections, including conjunctivitis and ulcers of the cornea. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid. 

Xeroflox Eye Drop contains Ofloxacin, which works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) that is involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, it kills bacteria and clears infection.

Use Xeroflox Eye Drop as prescribed by your doctor. Xeroflox Eye Drop is only for use in eyes. You are advised to use Xeroflox Eye Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dry eyes, blurred vision, eye discomfort, eye redness, mild itching, or irritation in the eye. Most of these side effects of Xeroflox Eye Drop do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Xeroflox Eye Drop is used in the treatment of bacterial eye infections. The detailed uses of Xeroflox Eye Drop are as follows:<br/> • Bacterial eye infections: Xeroflox Eye Drop is used to treat bacterial infections of the eye such as conjunctivitis caused by bacteria.<br/>• Corneal Ulcers: Xeroflox Eye Drop is also used to treat corneal ulcers, especially those caused by bacterial infections.<br/>• Post-Surgical Infection Prevention: Xeroflox Eye Drop may be used to prevent infection after certain eye surgeries like cataract surgery by controlling harmful bacteria in the eye.<br/>

Directions for Use

  • Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
  • Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.
  • Xeroflox Eye Drop is for ophthalmic use only. Not for injection.
  • Do not touch the dropper tip or other dispensing tip to any surface since this may contaminate solution.

Use Xeroflox Eye Drop as prescribed. The medications may cause the cornea's surface cells to shed, which could irritate the cornea, impair vision, and raise the risk of infection. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed. Seek immediate medical help if an overdose is suspected.

If you are allergic to Xeroflox Eye Drop or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Xeroflox Eye Drop should be used for children only in doses as advised by the doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before using Xeroflox Eye Drop. Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Sleep for a minimum of 6 to 8 hours to rejuvenate your eyes naturally.
  • Wash your eyes with clean water at least two to three times a day. Do not wash your eyes if you have undergone any eye surgery for at least 2 weeks. 
  • Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep.

You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using Xeroflox Eye Drop as it contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that changes the colour of contact lens as it may be absorbed by soft contact lens. Benzalkonium chloride also causes irritation in the eye especially if you have disorders of cornea (transparent layer at the front of eye) or dry eyes. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before using Xeroflox Eye Drop and reinsert them after 15 minutes after using Xeroflox Eye Drop. Also, inform your doctor if you experience pain, stinging or abnormal sensation in the eye after using Xeroflox Eye Drop.

Xeroflox Eye Drop may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.

Xeroflox Eye Drop is not used to treat fungal infection in the eye. Xeroflox Eye Drop is only used to treat bacterial eye infections.

You are not recommended to stop using Xeroflox Eye Drop without consulting your doctor as it may worsen the infection. Therefore, use Xeroflox Eye Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it and if you experience any difficulty while using Xeroflox Eye Drop, please consult your doctor.
