Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml is a combination medicine used to treat eye infections caused by bacteria such as conjunctivitis. This medicine stops the growth of bacteria by inhibiting the DNA-gyrase enzyme and thereby helps reduce bacterial eye infections. This medicine is not effective for treating viral infections. About Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml

Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml belongs to ophthalmic eye medications primarily used to treat bacterial eye infections. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid. 

Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml is a combination of two antibiotics: Tobramycin and Moxifloxacin. Tobramycin works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins that are necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers. Thus, it destroys bacteria. Moxifloxacin works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating bacteria's DNA (genetic material). Thus, kills bacteria and clears the infection.

Use Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml as prescribed by your doctor. Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml is only for use in eyes. You are advised to use Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience eye irritation, eye redness, watery eyes, itchy or swollen eyelids, dry eyes, and mild itching in the eye. Most of these side effects of Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.• Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.• Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml. Replace the outer cap after use. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids or surrounding areas as it may cause contamination.

Use Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml as prescribed by your doctor. Overdose may increase the risk of serious side effects. If you experience any worsening side effcts, consult your doctor promptly.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Sleep for a minimum of 6 to 8 hours to rejuvenate your eyes naturally.
  • Wash your eyes with clean water at least two to three times a day. Do not wash your eyes if you have undergone any eye surgery for at least 2 weeks. 
  • Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep.

Then, squeeze the bottle gently by holding it upside down to instil the number of drops into the affected eye as advised by your doctor without touching the tip of the bottle to the eye or surrounding areas in order to avoid contamination. Finally, replace the cap tightly after use. After applying Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml, you are advised to close your eyes for a minimum of 2 to 3 minutes, and pressure should be applied to the corner of the eye by pressing a finger to stop eye drops from spreading into the rest of the body.

You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml. You are advised to remove contact lenses before applying Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml and reinsert after 15 minutes of using Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml. Also, inform your doctor if you experience pain, stinging or abnormal sensation in the eye after using Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml.

Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after applying. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.

Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml is not used to treat fungal infection in the eye. Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml is only used to treat bacterial eye infections.

You are not recommended to stop using Tocimox Eye Drops 5ml without consulting your doctor as it may worsen the infection.
