About Tobajoy Eye Drop

Tobajoy Eye Drop belongs to the class of aminoglycoside antibiotics. It is used for the treatment of bacterial eye infections. Bacterial eye infection occurs when harmful bacteria invade any part of the eye, such as the eyeball, conjunctiva, or cornea.

Tobajoy Eye Drop contains tobramycin, an antibiotic that works by killing the infection-causing bacteria. Thus, Tobajoy Eye Drop treats bacterial eye infections.

Use Tobajoy Eye Drop as prescribed by your doctor. The common side-effects of Tobajoy Eye Drop are eye irritation, feeling of having something in the eye, swollen/itchy eyelids, eye redness, increased tearing and inflammation of the cornea (clear front portion of your eye). Most of these side effects fade away gradually over time without the need for medical intervention. However, consult your doctor if you experience these side effects frequently.

Tobajoy Eye Drop is for ophthalmic (eye) use only; do not inject or swallow. Do not use Tobajoy Eye Drop if you are allergic to tobramycin, other aminoglycoside antibiotics, or any components in Tobajoy Eye Drop. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, notify your doctor. Tobajoy Eye Drop is used in the treatment of bacterial eye infections. The detailed uses of Tobajoy Eye Drop are as follows:<br/>• Bacterial eye infections: Tobajoy Eye Drop is used to treat external infections of the eye caused by susceptible bacteria.<br/>• Corneal Ulcers: Tobajoy Eye Drop is used in combination with other antibiotics to treat corneal ulcers, especially those caused by bacterial infections.<br/>• Eye Injuries or Foreign Body Removal: Tobajoy Eye Drop is used to prevent infection in case of eye injury or after removal of foreign body from the eye.<br/>

Directions for Use

  • Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
  • Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.
  • Tobajoy Eye Drop is for ophthalmic use only. Not for injection.
  • Do not touch the dropper tip or other dispensing tip to any surface since this may contaminate solution.

What if I have taken an overdose of Tobajoy Eye Drop

Overdose of Tobajoy Eye Drop may cause black, tarry stools, chest pain or tightness, continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in the ears, feeling of fullness in the ears. If an overdose is suspected, seek immediate medical help.

Drug Warnings

Do not use if you are allergic to tobramycin, another aminoglycoside antibiotic, or any of the components of Tobajoy Eye Drop. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor. You may have temporary blurred vision after using Tobajoy Eye Drop; consequently, wait until your vision returns to normal before driving or operating any machinery. Before using Tobajoy Eye Drop, notify your doctor if you have vision problems, severe eye pain, glaucoma (high blood pressure in the eye), eye damage, or eye surgery.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Get at least eight hours of sleep each night to naturally refresh your eyes.
  • Wash your eyes with clean water at least twice or thrice daily. If you had eye surgery, wash your eyes after two weeks.
  • Take care of your health by eating a well-balanced diet, exercising regularly, and getting plenty of rest.
  • If you wear contact lenses, clean and replace them more frequently. Never share your contact lenses. Always wash your hands before and after inserting and removing contact lenses.
  • Avoid gazing at digital screens for extended periods. For every 20 minutes, take a break.
  • Blink frequently to aid in transmitting hydrating substances like mucus and tears across the eyes.

Tobajoy Eye Drop may temporarily blur the vision. Therefore, wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery to prevent any mishappening.

Tobajoy Eye Drop has broad spectrum activity. It kills aerobic gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Tobajoy Eye Drop should be used for as long as it has been prescribed by the doctor. The doctor will determine the duration of the treatment based on your condition.
