Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet is a combination medicine that contains pain relievers and muscle relaxants. It is used to treat spasticity (muscle stiffness and spasms) associated with pain. Pain is a symptom triggered by the nervous system, causing uncomfortable sensations in the body. A muscle spasm occurs due to involuntary contractions of a muscle. A spasm may be a muscle cramp or feel tight or stiff, like a knot.

Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet contains Diclofenac (NSAID) and Tizanidine (muscle relaxant). Diclofenac blocks prostaglandins (PGs) that cause pain and swelling. Tizanidine works on the centres of the spinal cord and brain. This helps relieve muscle stiffness and improves muscle movements. As a result, Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet helps to reduce muscle stiffness, spasms, and pain.

Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet is prescribed medication, and it should be taken as directed by the doctor. In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as feeling or being sick (vomiting), diarrhoea, headaches, drowsiness and ringing in your ears (tinnitus), fluctuations in blood pressure, dry mouth, stomach upsets, and decrease or increase in heart rate. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Before prescribing Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet, inform your doctor about all your allergic or hypersensitivity reactions to medicines or food. Also, tell your doctor about your medical history and other medications you are currently taking to rule out any potential adverse effects. Do not take Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet unless recommended by the doctor if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert and focused. Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol while on treatment with Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet as it could lead to liver damage.

Do not take Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet if you are allergic to its components. Inform your doctor about all your medical conditions, especially if you have/ had hepatotoxicity, hypotension, renal dysfunction or renal toxicities, asthma, fluid retention, GI toxicity, rash, or thrombosis (blood clots). It is not recommended to take Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding. Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet is not recommended for children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Do not stop taking Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet unless your doctor tells you to. Treatment with Tizalud D 50 mg/2 mg Tablet should be stopped gradually. Stopping treatment suddenly may cause effects such as an increase in heart rate and high blood pressure.
