About Starbact MF Cream
Starbact MF Cream is a dermatological combination medicine used to reduce swelling/inflammation, itching and redness caused due to certain fungal skin infections. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and cause infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another).
Starbact MF Cream is a combination of two drugs, namely: Fluocinolone acetonide (corticosteroid) and Miconazole (antifungal). Fluocinolone acetonide belongs to the class of corticosteroids that works by preventing the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling. On the other hand, Miconazole belongs to the class of antifungals that works by causing holes in the fungal cell membranes thereby killing the fungi.
Starbact MF Cream is only for external use. Use Starbact MF Cream as prescribed. Your doctor will recommend how often you use Starbact MF Cream based on your medical condition. Avoid contact of Starbact MF Cream with nose, ears, mouth or eyes. In case Starbact MF Cream comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience dry skin, skin peeling, increased hair growth, pimples, patches of pale skin, itching, irritation or burning sensation at the site of application. Most of these side effects of Starbact MF Cream do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are known to be allergic to Starbact MF Cream or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Starbact MF Cream. Do not use Starbact MF Cream in more than prescribed doses, or for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects such as skin thinning, visible small veins or stretch marks. Avoid using Starbact MF Cream for more than 5 days in children and on the face. Do not apply Starbact MF Cream on open wounds, cuts, scrapes or damaged skin. Do not swallow Starbact MF Cream. In case of accidental swallowing, contact nearby poison control centre or consult a doctor immediately. Directions for Use
Medicinal Benefits
Starbact MF Cream is a combination of two drugs, namely, Fluocinolone acetonide and Miconazole. Starbact MF Cream is used to reduce swelling, itching and redness caused due to fungal skin infections. Fluocinolone acetonide is a corticosteroid that acts inside skin cells and inhibits the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling. When the skin reacts to any allergens, such chemicals are released normally. The fungal cell membranes are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stops the leakage of cell contents. Miconazole is an antifungal that causes holes in the fungal cell membranes and kills fungi. Thereby, clears fungal infection and provides relief from cracking, burning, scaling and itching of the skin caused due to infections.
