About Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet

Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called alkalinising agents used to correct the acid-alkaline balance in the body. Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet is used to treat acid indigestion, heartburn, sour stomach, and stomach upset. Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet may also be prescribed to make the blood or urine less acidic in certain conditions.

Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet contains ‘Sodium bicarbonate’, which helps neutralise the stomach's acidic pH. Thereby, Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet helps to provide relief from acidity.

You are advised to take Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. Sometimes, you may experience common side effects such as dry mouth, urinating more than usual, and increased thirst. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Inform your doctor if you have high blood pressure, kidney, liver or heart disease, if you have recently had bleeding in the stomach or intestine or if you are on a low-salt diet. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding. Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet should not be given to children unless prescribed by the doctor. Avoid consuming alcohol, as it could elevate the production of stomach acid.

How does the drug interact with Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet:
Co-administration of Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet and Dolutegravir reduces the levels of Dolutegravir, resulting in reduced effectiveness.

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking Dolutegravir and Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet together can result in an interaction, they can be taken together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if you experience symptoms like fever, chills, diarrhea, sore throat, muscle aches, red or inflamed skin, and pain or burning during urination, contact your doctor immediately. Do not discontinue any medications without consulting your doctor.

Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet is an antacid that helps neutralize stomach acid during indigestion and heartburn. Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet may also be prescribed to make the blood or urine less acidic in certain conditions.

Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet has alkaline pH, which helps in neutralising the acidic pH in the stomach. Thereby, Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet helps to provide relief from acidity and heartburn.

Do not take Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet for longer than two weeks unless prescribed by the doctor. If there is no symptomatic improvement despite using Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet for 1-2 weeks, consult your doctor.

Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet can be taken with other medicines if prescribed by the doctor. However, you are advised to maintain a gap of 2 hours between Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet and other medicines.

Dry mouth could be a side-effect of Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet. Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking, drinking water regularly and chewing sugar-free gum/candy might stimulate saliva and prevent drying of the mouth.

If you have kidney problems, please consult your doctor before taking Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet as it may possibly affect kidney function.

Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet may cause side effects such as increased thirst, stomach cramps, gas, dry mouth and urinating more than usual. If these side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Store Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet at room temperature. Protect from light. Keep it out of reach of children.

Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet overdose may lead to hyperventilation (over breathing), twitching, very sensitive to light stimuli and high potassium levels in the blood which may cause dizziness or tiredness. Therefore, if you suspect you have taken overdose of Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet, please seek medical help immediately.

Pregnant women are recommended to consult their doctor before using Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet or any antacid, as it may worsen high blood pressure during pregnancy.

Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet should be used for as long as it is advised by your doctor. However, do not use Sodawin DS 1000mg Tablet for more than 2 weeks without consulting a doctor. If acid problems persist or worsen after 2 weeks of self-treatment, seek medical help.
