About Sanomet GP 1 Tablet

Sanomet GP 1 Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called anti-diabetic drugs used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, especially in patients whose blood sugar levels are not controlled by diet and exercise alone. Type 2 diabetes is a chronic (long-lasting) condition that affects the way our body processes glucose.

Sanomet GP 1 Tablet contains Glimepiride, Metformin, and Pioglitazone. Glimepiride lowers blood sugar by causing the pancreas to produce insulin. Metformin reduces the production of sugar in the liver and delays sugar absorption from the intestines. Pioglitazone increases the body's sensitivity to insulin. Thereby, Sanomet GP 1 Tablet helps to control blood sugar levels.

In some cases, you may experience stomach pain, nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, headache, a metallic taste, or low blood sugar. Most of these side effects of Sanomet GP 1 Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Sanomet GP 1 Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Sanomet GP 1 Tablet is not recommended for children. Consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding, pregnant or planning for pregnancy. • Glimepiride works by stimulating beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. Thus, insulin helps to remove sugar from the blood.
  • Metformin works by reducing the sugar production by cells in the liver and delaying sugar absorption from the intestines. Also, it increases the sensitivity of muscle cells to insulin, which enables these cells to remove sugar more effectively from the blood.
  • Pioglitazone works by increasing the sensitivity of liver, muscle and fat cells to insulin and enabling them to remove glucose from the blood more effectively.
  • This medicine ensures long-lasting glycaemic control, reducing the frequency of dosage. It also prevents unnecessary sugar spikes.
