About Rifacept Kid-3 Tablet

Rifacept Kid-3 Tablet belongs to the group of anti-tuberculosis drugs, primarily used to treat and prevent tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs but can also spread to other body parts such as the kidneys, brain, spine, and bone marrow.

Rifacept Kid-3 Tablet combines four drugs: Isoniazid, Pyrazinamide, Pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), and Rifampicin. Isoniazid inhibits the biosynthesis of mycolic acid, which is the major component of the bacterial cell wall. Pyrazinamide is an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria that cause tuberculosis. Pyridoxine hydrochloride treats nerve damage (neuritis) caused by tuberculosis. Rifampicin inhibits DNA-dependent RNA polymerase activity in the bacteria.

Rifacept Kid-3 Tablet is for paediatric use only. Give Rifacept Kid-3 Tablet to children as advised by the doctor. The detailed uses of Rifacept Kid-3 Tablet are as follows:<br/>• Treating Active TB: Rifacept Kid-3 Tablet helps treat TB infections in the lungs and other parts of the body in children.<br/>• Preventing TB: It is used to stop latent TB from turning into active TB in children who may have been exposed to it.<br/>• For High-Risk Children: Rifacept Kid-3 Tablet is given to children at high risk of developing TB, such as those with weakened immune systems.<br/>• Combination Therapy: The combination of Isoniazid, Pyrazinamide, Pyridoxine hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), and Rifampicin works together to kill the bacteria causing TB.<br/>

Directions for Use

  • Dissolve the tablet in the prescribed amount of water (usually a teaspoonful).
