Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm belongs to the class of combination medications called ‘antibiotics' and 'steroids' used for the treatment of bacterial eye infections and ear infections. A bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grow in the body and cause infection. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm does not work against infections caused by viruses and fungi.

Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm is a combination of Chloramphenicol, Dexamethasone, and Polymyxin B. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic that acts by interfering with the formation of essential proteins required for bacterial growth. Dexamethasone is a steroid that reduces inflammation and symptoms associated with infection, such as redness and irritation. Polymyxin B is bactericidal, which works by killing the bacterial cell and preventing the formation of bacterial cell walls, which is essential for survival. Together Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm prevent the spread of eye and ear infections caused by a wide range of gram-negative bacteria causing eye/ear infections.

You should use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. When used in the eyes, the common side effects are eye discomfort, eye irritation, and a burning sensation in the eye. Directions for Use

• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication. • For eye use: Tilt your head back and gently pull your lower eyelid downwards and instil the advised number of drops into the eye pouch.• For ear use: Tilt your head to the side and gently instil the advised number of drops into the ear. Keep your head tilted for a minute to allow the drops to soak in.• Do not touch the dropper with your bare hands to prevent contamination.
