About Plaintar CS Lotion

Plaintar CS Lotion is used to treat psoriasis. Additionally, Plaintar CS Lotion may also be used to treat seborrheic dermatitis. Psoriasis is a skin condition in which skin cells multiply up to 10 times faster than usual, leading to skin building up into bumpy (uneven) red patches covered with white scales.

Plaintar CS Lotion is a combination of clobetasol, coal tar, and salicylic acid. Clobetasol works by inhibiting the release of chemical messengers that cause inflammation and redness. Coal tar and salicylic acid help break down keratin clumps, remove dead skin cells, and soften the skin.

In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as a burning sensation, irritation, itching and redness at the site of application. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention. However, talk to your doctor if these side effects persist.

Do not use Plaintar CS Lotion if you have a skin reaction or irritation to any steroid medicine. Consult your doctor before using Plaintar CS Lotion if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Plaintar CS Lotion in doses beyond the prescribed amount or on a large area of skin for a prolonged period. Do not apply Plaintar CS Lotion on children’s skin unless prescribed by the doctor.

  • Manages Seborrheic Dermatitis: Plaintar CS Lotion helps control symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis such as flaking, redness, and itching on the scalp and other oily areas of the skin.
  • Reduces Skin Inflammation: Plaintar CS Lotion helps relieve redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort caused by inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema (atopic dermatitis).

Directions for Use

  • Apply Plaintar CS Lotion 2 to 3 times daily; however, follow your doctor's advice regarding the dosage and duration.

What if I have taken an overdose of Plaintar CS Lotion

Though overdose is unlikely due to low systemic absorption, it is advised to avoid exceeding the recommended dose. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any unusual symptoms.

Drug Warnings

  • Do not use Plaintar CS Lotion if you are allergic to any of the contents.
  • Inform your doctor if you have/had skin reaction or irritation to any steroid medicine; if you have glaucoma, diabetes, adrenal gland disorder, lupus, sensitivity of the skin to light, kidney or liver disease.
  • Consult your doctor before using Plaintar CS Lotion if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Include foods such as cherries, berries, leafy vegetables, salmon, sardines, and fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
  • Consume antioxidant-rich spices and herbs like cumin, ginger, sage, and thyme.
  • Avoid processed foods, refined sugars, and fatty foods.
  • Limit food intake that might trigger allergies, such as dairy products, soy, eggs, and nuts.
  • Include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, and fish in your diet.
