Picmegfin S/F Suspension is used to treat constipation associated with piles, anal fissures, hernias, cardiovascular disorders, endoscopy, bowel clearance before radioscopy, pre/post-operative conditions, and elderly and bedridden patients. Picmegfin S/F Suspension is used to treat constipation associated with piles, anal fissures, hernias, cardiovascular disorders, endoscopy, bowel clearance before radioscopy, pre/post-operative conditions, and elderly and bedridden patients. Constipation refers to infrequent bowel movements in which the stools are often dry, painful and hard to pass. 

Picmegfin S/F Suspension contains Sodium picosulphate, magnesium hydroxide and liquid paraffin. Sodiumpico sulphate works by preventing the absorption of water in the colonic lumen and stimulates the propulsive activity of the colon, thereby promoting the accumulation of water. Magnesium hydroxide works by increasing the osmotic gradient in the gut by drawing the water into the intestine. Thus, it helps bowel evacuation. Liquid paraffin works by lubricating the bowels and softening the stools. Together, Picmegfin S/F Suspension helps relieve constipation.

You are advised to take Picmegfin S/F Suspension for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, Picmegfin S/F Suspension may cause certain common side effects such as diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort, pain or cramps. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

What if I have taken an overdose of Picmegfin S/F Suspension

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Picmegfin S/F Suspension as it may cause overdose. If you suspect you have taken overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.

Drug Warnings

Do not take Picmegfin S/F Suspension if you are allergic to any of its contents; if you have/had acute abdominal surgery, intestinal obstruction, or undiagnosed abdominal pain.
