Otiflam Plus Eye/Ear Drops 5 ml is used in the treatment of Bacterial infections of the eye and ear. The detailed uses of Otiflam Plus Eye/Ear Drops 5 ml are as follows:

• Treat bacterial infections of the eye and ear: Otiflam Plus Eye/Ear Drops 5 ml combines Ofloxacin (an antibiotic) and Dexamethasone (a corticosteroid) to eliminate infection-causing bacteria and reduce inflammation, redness, and swelling in the affected area.
• Manage postoperative inflammation and prevent infection: Otiflam Plus Eye/Ear Drops 5 ml is commonly prescribed after eye or ear surgeries to control inflammation and reduce the risk of bacterial infection during recovery.
• Relieve symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis and otitis externa: By suppressing immune responses and bacterial growth, Otiflam Plus Eye/Ear Drops 5 ml helps alleviate itching, burning, and discomfort caused by allergic reactions or external ear infections.

Otiflam Plus Eye/Ear Drops 5 ml contains Dexamethasone and Ofloxacin. Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid and blocks prostaglandins' production (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen and itchy. Ofloxacin is a quinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme required for DNA replication, transcription, and repair. Thus Otiflam Plus Eye/Ear Drops 5 ml treats bacterial eye and ear infections.

• Follow your doctor’s instructions regarding the dosage and duration.
• For eye use: Wash your hands, tilt your head back, pull down your lower eyelid, and instil the prescribed number of drops into the eye.
• For ear use: Lie on your side or tilt your head so the ear faces up and instil the prescribed number of drops into the ear.
• Do not touch the tip of the dropper to avoid contamination.

• Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep.
• Eat food rich in antioxidants such as berries, spinach, kidney beans, dark chocolate, etc.

• Avoid getting things like shampoo, soap, and water into the ear, as it can cause itching.
