Ontix Injection is an antiemetic medication used in the treatment and prevention of nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy. About Ontix Injection

Ontix Injection is used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy. Nausea is an uneasy feeling in which a person feels an urge to vomit, while vomiting is the natural response of the body to expel the stomach contents from the mouth forcefully.

Ontix Injection contains Ondansetron, which works by blocking the action of a chemical in the body (serotonin) responsible for causing nausea and vomiting.

In some cases, Ontix Injection may cause headache, constipation, a feeling of warmth or flushing, redness, and irritation at the site of injection. If the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Ontix Injection or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) : Ontix Injection is used in adults and children to prevent and manage nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy.
Post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV): Ontix Injection helps prevent and treat nausea and vomiting that may occur after surgery.
Radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting: In adults receiving radiation treatment for cancer, Ontix Injection is used to reduce or prevent nausea and vomiting associated with therapy.

What if I have taken an overdose of Ontix Injection

Ontix Injection is administered by a health care professional in a hospital setting. Hence, the chances of overdose are less. Symptoms of overdose may include sudden loss of vision, severe constipation, feeling light-headed, or fainting. There is no specific antidote for Ondansetron overdose. Your doctor may take necessary measures if an overdose is suspected.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

Drink any other liquid at least 30 minutes after eating food.
If the smell of food makes you feel sick (vomit), do not cook food as it may worsen your condition. Let someone else do the cooking or use prepared food from the freezer.
