Uses of Omalirel Injection may include:

• Severe Allergic Asthma: Helps manage severe, persistent asthma in adults and children when inhaled steroid medicines do not work well enough.
• Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (Chronic Hives): Treats long-lasting hives and skin swelling that do not respond to antihistamine medications.
• Nasal Polyps: Helps shrink growths in the nasal passages to improve breathing and reduce nasal congestion when other treatments fail.

Omalirel Injection is a biologic medicine used to manage certain allergic conditions, including allergic asthma, chronic spontaneous urticaria, and nasal polyps. It works by targeting immunoglobulin E (IgE), an important mediator of allergic inflammation.

• Helps Control Allergic Asthma: Reduces allergic inflammation and may decrease the frequency of asthma exacerbations in people with appropriately diagnosed severe allergic asthma.
• Reduces Chronic Hives: Helps reduce the number and severity of hives and may relieve associated itching in people with chronic spontaneous urticaria.
• Helps Manage Nasal Polyps: May reduce nasal congestion and the size of nasal polyps, helping improve breathing and other associated symptoms.
• Reduces the Need for Rescue Treatment: Better control of allergic inflammation may reduce asthma exacerbations and the need for additional rescue treatments in appropriate patients.
• Improves Daily Comfort: Better control of asthma, hives, or nasal symptoms may improve sleep, daily functioning, and overall quality of life.

• Follow your doctor’s instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
• Hold the syringe straight and inject it under the skin, typically in the thigh, abdomen, or upper arm.
• Before administration, ensure that the injection site is clean. Rotate injection sites to reduce discomfort or irritation. Use Omalirel Injection only after receiving proper training from the healthcare professional.

• Identify and Avoid Triggers: Minimise exposure to personal asthma and allergy triggers, such as tobacco smoke, dust mites, pollen, mould, and pet dander.
• Keep a Symptom Diary: Record asthma symptoms, hive flare-ups, nasal symptoms, and the dates of your injections to help your doctor assess how well your treatment is working.
• Wear Comfortable Clothing: Choose loose-fitting, breathable clothing to reduce friction and skin irritation if you experience chronic hives.
• Avoid Excessive Heat: Avoid very hot baths and showers, as heat may worsen itching or trigger hives in some people.

• Inspect the Medicine Before Use: Check the syringe or vial before administration. Do not use it if the solution appears cloudy, discoloured, or contains unexpected visible particles.
• Rotate Injection Sites: Change the injection site with each dose to reduce the risk of soreness, bruising, or skin changes at the injection site.
• Watch for Severe Allergic Reactions: Omalizumab can rarely cause anaphylaxis, which may occur shortly after an injection or, in some cases, later. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop difficulty breathing, throat or tongue swelling, severe dizziness, or widespread hives after receiving the medicine.
• Do Not Stop Other Asthma Medicines Suddenly: Continue your other asthma or allergy medicines as prescribed. Do not reduce or stop corticosteroids or other controller medicines unless your doctor tells you to do so.
• Avoid Irritated Injection Sites: Do not inject into areas that are painful, red, bruised, hard, or scarred. Follow the injection-site instructions provided by your healthcare professional.
