OFORD LB TABLET is prescribed to treat bacterial and parasitic infections affecting the digestive tract. It may be used for:

• Dysentery: It relieves severe bowel inflammation characterised by painful stools containing mucus or blood by clearing the underlying bacterial and amoebic infections.
• Mixed gastrointestinal infections: The medicine works effectively against multiple types of microorganisms simultaneously, resolving stomach infections that have more than one cause.

• Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids such as water, clear broths, or oral rehydration solutions (ORS) to replace fluids and electrolytes lost through diarrhoea.
• Eat a bland diet: Stick to simple, low-fiber foods like bananas, white rice, applesauce, and toast, which are gentle on an inflamed digestive system.
• Avoid gut irritants: Steer clear of dairy products, spicy dishes, fried or greasy foods, caffeine, and highly sugary drinks, as they can worsen diarrhoea and stomach pain.
• Practice good hygiene: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before cooking, eating, and after using the restroom to prevent spreading the infection to others.
• Get adequate rest: Give your body time to heal and recover its energy by avoiding strenuous physical activities during treatment.
   

• Complete the Full Course: Do not stop taking OFORD LB TABLET early, even if your symptoms improve, unless your doctor advises you to do so.
• Avoid Alcohol: Do not consume alcohol during treatment and for at least 72 hours after your last dose, as it may cause flushing, nausea, vomiting, headache, or a rapid heartbeat.
• Protect Your Skin from Sunlight: This medicine may increase your sensitivity to sunlight. Use sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and avoid excessive sun exposure or tanning beds.
• Report Tendon Pain Immediately: Stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor promptly if you develop sudden pain, swelling, tenderness, or difficulty moving a tendon.
• Use Caution During Activities: Avoid driving, cycling, or operating machinery if you experience dizziness, drowsiness, or reduced alertness while taking OFORD LB TABLET.
