About Oestrogel

Oestrogel is indicated in the treatment of moderate to severe symptoms of vulvar and vaginal atrophy due to menopause. Vaginal atrophy occurs due to a drop in the levels of oestrogen that naturally happens after menopause. It causes dryness and irritation in the vagina.

Oestrogel contains ‘estradiol’, which works by replacing the oestrogen, which is normally produced by the ovaries.

In some cases, Oestrogel may cause common side effects such as headache, stomach pain, vaginal bleeding, discomfort or discharge, nausea, and vomiting. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Use Oestrogel as recommended by your doctor. Oestrogel is for vaginal use only. Avoid contact with eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. It is advised to wash your hands before and after each application.

Avoid using Oestrogel if you are allergic to it. Consult a doctor if you notice jaundice, a large rise in blood pressure, migraine, if you become pregnant or if you notice any signs of a blood clot such as sudden chest pain, difficulty breathing, painful swelling and redness of the legs. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects/interactions.
