Obrin Ophthalmic Gel belongs to the class of aminoglycoside antibiotics. It is used for the treatment of bacterial eye infections. Bacterial eye infection occurs when harmful bacteria invade any part of the eye, such as the eyeball, conjunctiva, or cornea.

Obrin Ophthalmic Gel contains tobramycin, an antibiotic that works by killing the infection-causing bacteria. Thus Obrin Ophthalmic Gel treats bacterial eye infections.

Use Obrin Ophthalmic Gel as prescribed by your doctor. The common side-effects of Obrin Ophthalmic Gel are eye irritation, feeling of having something in the eye, swollen/itchy eyelids, eye redness, increased tearing and inflammation of the cornea (clear front portion of your eye). Most of these side effects fade away gradually over time without the need for medical intervention. However, consult your doctor if you experience these side effects frequently.

Obrin Ophthalmic Gel is for ophthalmic (eye) use only. Do not use Obrin Ophthalmic Gel if you are allergic to tobramycin, other aminoglycoside antibiotics, or any components in Obrin Ophthalmic Gel. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, notify your doctor. Obrin Ophthalmic Gel may temporarily blur your vision; therefore, wait until your vision is back to normal before using any machinery or driving.

• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
• Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Gently pull your lower eyelid with your index finger to form a pocket. Squeeze a tiny amount of the cream/ointment into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.
• Obrin Ophthalmic Gel is for ophthalmic use only.
• Do not touch the tip of the tube or other dispensing tip to any surface, as this may contaminate the ointment.
• If the ointment becomes discoloured, it should be discarded.

You may have temporary blurred vision after using Obrin Ophthalmic Gel; consequently, wait until your vision returns to normal before driving or operating any machinery. Before using Obrin Ophthalmic Gel, notify your doctor if you have vision problems or severe eye pain. Do not use Obrin Ophthalmic Gel while you are wearing contact lenses.
