Novagesic-MR Tablet

Novagesic-MR Tablet is used in the treatment of spasticity and associated muscle pain and stiffness. The detailed uses of Novagesic-MR Tablet are as follows:

• Relieves muscle spasms: Novagesic-MR Tablet helps reduce involuntary muscle contractions and stiffness in conditions causing spasticity.
• Reduces pain and inflammation: Novagesic-MR Tablet provides effective pain relief and reduces swelling in affected muscles and joints.
• Improves mobility and comfort: By easing both pain and muscle tightness, Novagesic-MR Tablet supports better physical function and comfort.

Novagesic-MR Tablet contains Diclofenac, Paracetamol and Tizanidine. Diclofenac and Paracetamol inhibit the production of prostaglandins (PGs), which induce pain and swelling. Tizanidine modulates the spinal cord and brain centres. This aids in the relief of muscle stiffness and the improvement of muscle movements. As a result, Novagesic-MR Tablet aids in relieving muscle stiffness, spasms, and pain. Besides this, paracetamol reduces elevated temperature by altering the chemical messengers in the brain area that regulates body temperature.

• Take Novagesic-MR Tablet with or without food or as advised by a doctor.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication, to ensure the safety.
• Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, break, or chew it.

• Regular exercise helps muscle stretch, making them less likely to spasm, tear, and sprain. Mild activities such as jogging and walking are helpful for muscle stretching.
• Massages can also be helpful.
• Rest well, and get plenty of sleep.
• Change your position at least every two hours to avoid developing pressure sores.
• Hot or cold therapy can help treat muscle spasms.
• Apply an ice pack or hot pack on the muscle for 15-20minutes.
• Stay hydrated, drink plenty of water.

• Do not take Novagesic-MR Tablet if you are allergic to its components.
• Inform your doctor about all your medical conditions, especially if you have/ had hepatotoxicity, hypotension, renal dysfunction or renal toxicities, asthma, fluid retention, GI toxicity, rash, or thrombosis (blood clots).
• It is not recommended to take Novagesic-MR Tablet during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding.
• Novagesic-MR Tablet may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only when you are alert.
• Novagesic-MR Tablet is not recommended for children as safety and effectiveness have not been established.
• Do not stop taking Novagesic-MR Tablet unless your doctor tells you to. Treatment with Novagesic-MR Tablet should be stopped gradually. Stopping treatment suddenly may cause effects such as an increase in heart rate and high blood pressure.
