Novagesic MR Tablet is a combination medicine that contains pain relievers and muscle relaxants. It is used to treat spasticity (muscle stiffness and spasms) associated with pain. Pain is a symptom triggered by the nervous system, causing uncomfortable sensations in the body. A muscle spasm occurs due to involuntary contractions of a muscle. A spasm may be a muscle cramp or feel tight or stiff, like a knot.

Novagesic MR Tablet contains Diclofenac, Paracetamol and Tizanidine. Diclofenac and Paracetamol blocks prostaglandins (PGs) that cause pain and swelling. Tizanidine works on the centres of the spinal cord and brain. This helps relieve muscle stiffness and improves muscle movements. As a result, Novagesic MR Tablet helps to reduce muscle stiffness, spasms, and pain. In addition, paracetamol lowers the high temperature by affecting the chemical messengers in an area of the brain that regulates body temperature.

Novagesic MR Tablet is prescribed medication, and it should be taken as directed by the doctor. In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches, drowsiness and ringing in your ears (tinnitus), fluctuations in blood pressure, dry mouth, stomach upsets, and a decrease or increase in heart rate. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. If any of these effects persist, consult your doctor.

Avoid taking Novagesic MR Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. Before taking Novagesic MR Tablet , tell your doctor about your medical history and other medications you are currently taking to rule out any possible side effects. Novagesic MR Tablet is not recommended for use in pregnancy. If you are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking Novagesic MR Tablet . This medicine may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert and focused. Novagesic MR Tablet should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol while on treatment with Novagesic MR Tablet as it could lead to liver damage.

Do not take Novagesic MR Tablet if you are allergic to its components. Inform your doctor about all your medical conditions, especially if you have/ had hepatotoxicity, hypotension, renal dysfunction or renal toxicities, asthma, fluid retention, GI toxicity, rash, or thrombosis (blood clots). It is not recommended to take Novagesic MR Tablet during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding. Novagesic MR Tablet may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only when you are alert. Novagesic MR Tablet is not recommended for children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Do not stop taking Novagesic MR Tablet unless your doctor tells you to. Treatment with Novagesic MR Tablet should be stopped gradually. Stopping treatment suddenly may cause effects such as an increase in heart rate and high blood pressure.
