Noraxin 200mg Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections caused by susceptible bacteria. It is indicated in the treatment of urinary tract infections, prostatitis (prostate inflammation), and gonorrhoea (a sexually transmitted disease). Additionally, it is used to treat infections of the stomach and intestine, such as traveller's diarrhoea. It contains Norfloxacin, which kills the bacteria and treats bacterial infections. About Noraxin 200mg Tablet

Noraxin 200mg Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, prostatitis (prostate inflammation), and gonorrhoea (a sexually transmitted disease). Additionally, Noraxin 200mg Tablet is used to treat infections of the stomach and intestine, such as traveler’s diarrhoea.

Noraxin 200mg Tablet contains norfloxacin, which works by inhibiting the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase, thereby preventing bacterial DNA replication and leading to the death of the bacteria.

Take Noraxin 200mg Tablet as prescribed. In some cases, Noraxin 200mg Tablet may cause common side effects such as abdominal cramps, nausea, diarrhoea, heartburn, headache, and dizziness. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Take Noraxin 200mg Tablet as prescribed. It can be taken 1 hour before food or 2 hours after food. Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water. The dose and duration of medicine will be decided by the physician.

  • Gynecological Infections: Noraxin 200mg Tablet treats certain bacterial gynecological infections, especially those affecting the lower reproductive system, such as cervical and urethral gonorrhea caused by the bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

  • Do not take Noraxin 200mg Tablet if you are allergic to any of its ingredients
  • Also, inform your doctor if you have experienced swelling or tendon tearing while taking quinolone antibiotics.
  • Noraxin 200mg Tablet is associated with an increased risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture in all age groups; this risk is higher in patients over 60 years old, those taking corticosteroids, or those who have had kidney, heart, or lung transplants.

  • Antibiotics can alter the beneficial bacteria in the stomach, which help in digestion. Therefore, you are advised to take foods rich in probiotics, such as yoghurt/curd, kefir, sauerkraut, tempeh, kimchi, miso, kombucha, buttermilk, natto and cheese.
  • Eat fiber-rich food like whole grains, beans, lentils, berries, broccoli, peas, and bananas.
  • Avoid foods rich in calcium, such as dairy products and grapefruit and grapefruit juice, as they may hinder the absorption of antibiotics.
