Netazox Syrup 30 ml

Your doctor may prescribe Netazox Syrup to help manage the following conditions:

• Diarrhoea caused by Giardia lamblia: Netazox Syrup clears the parasitic infection in the intestines, stopping watery stools, bloating, and stomach cramps in children.
• Diarrhoea caused by Cryptosporidium parvum: Netazox Syrup stops the growth of these parasites in the gut, helping children recover from persistent, watery diarrhoea.

Netazox Syrup helps treat certain parasitic infections of the intestine, allowing your child to recover from infection-related diarrhoea and digestive discomfort.

• Helps improve diarrhoea: By treating susceptible Giardia lamblia or Cryptosporidium parvum infections, Netazox Syrup helps reduce watery or frequent stools as the infection clears.
• Eases digestive discomfort: As the infection improves, symptoms such as stomach cramps, bloating, and other digestive discomfort may also lessen.
• Supports recovery from the infection: Clearing the parasite helps the digestive system return to normal. Fluids and appropriate oral rehydration remain important for replacing water and salts lost through diarrhoea.
• Provides a liquid option for children: The suspension allows the prescribed dose to be measured for children who may have difficulty swallowing tablets.

• Netazox Syrup can be given to your child with food, or as advised by your doctor.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication to ensure safety.
• Gently tap the bottle to loosen the powder. Add approximately half of the required water, shake vigorously to suspend the powder, then add the remaining water up to the mark and shake again. Use freshly boiled and cooled water for reconstitution. Administer the prepared suspension orally to your child.
• Use the reconstituted solution or oral suspension within the specified period on the label.

• Prevent dehydration: Offer frequent fluids and, when appropriate, oral rehydration solution (ORS) to replace the water and salts lost through diarrhoea. Follow your doctor’s advice, particularly for infants or children with frequent watery stools.
• Continue age-appropriate feeding: Continue breastfeeding and offer your child's usual nutritious foods as tolerated. There is generally no need to restrict food to a bland diet if your child can eat normally.
• Limit very sugary drinks: Soft drinks, undiluted fruit juices, and other drinks high in sugar can sometimes worsen diarrhoea and are not a substitute for ORS.
• Practise careful hand hygiene: Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after using the toilet or changing nappies and before preparing or eating food. This can help reduce the spread of Giardia and Cryptosporidium.
• Follow local guidance for school and swimming: Recommendations for returning to school, childcare, or swimming after diarrhoea can vary by infection and location. Follow the advice of your child's doctor and local public health guidance.

• Shake before each dose: Shake the suspension well as directed on the product label so the medicine is evenly mixed before measuring it.
• Measure each dose accurately: Use the oral syringe, measuring cup, or other dosing device supplied or recommended with the medicine. Avoid household spoons because they may not measure the correct amount.
• Give each dose with food: Nitazoxanide should be given with food, which increases its absorption.
• Follow the prescribed course: Give Netazox Syrup for the dose and duration prescribed by your child's doctor, even if the diarrhoea improves earlier. Contact the doctor before making changes to the treatment.
• Know when to seek medical advice: Contact your child's doctor if diarrhoea is severe or persistent, your child cannot keep fluids down, or there are signs of dehydration such as reduced urination, a dry mouth, unusual sleepiness, or few or no tears when crying.
