About Nestclav DS Syrup

Nestclav DS Syrup is used to treat bacterial infections in the body that affect the skin, soft tissues, lungs, ears, urinary tract, and nasal sinuses. It should be mentioned that viral infections like the flu and the common cold are not treated by this medication.

Nestclav DS Syrup consists of Amoxycillin and Clavulanic acid. This medicine works by destroying the outer protein layer, thereby killing the bacteria (bactericidal action). As a result, it helps treat infection and reduce the further spread of infection. Nestclav DS Syrup does not work against infections caused by viruses, including colds and flu.

Not everyone who is taking Nestclav DS Syrup will get these side effects. The common side effects of Nestclav DS Syrup include vomiting, nausea, and diarrhoea. Everyone may not experience the above side effects. In case of any discomfort, speak with a doctor.

You can take Nestclav DS Syrup with food to avoid any stomach upset. It should be swallowed as a whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, bite, crush, or break it. What if I have taken an overdose of Nestclav DS Syrup

Take Nestclav DS Syrup only as prescribed by the physician. Avoid exceeding the recommended dose as it could lead to an overdose. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, drowsiness, skin rash, hyperactivity, and decreased urination. If you experience these symptoms or suspect you have taken an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

  • Do not take Nestclav DS Syrup if you have an allergy to Nestclav DS Syrup, penicillin or cephalosporin class of antibiotics. Nestclav DS Syrup contains Amoxycillin and Clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for the survival of the bacteria. Thus it kills the bacteria. Clavulanic acid works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of amoxycillin against the bacteria. Together, Nestclav DS Syrup helps in treating bacterial infections.

Nestclav DS Syrup is known to cause stomach upset, indigestion, nausea, and diarrhea. To avoid these side effects, please take Nestclav DS Syrup with a meal. Also, Nestclav DS Syrup should be taken at evenly spaced intervals to avoid any unpleasant side effects and for best results.

Generally, the penicillin group of antibiotics is not advised to be taken with methotrexate, which is used for conditions like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. They may cause unpleasant side effects when taken together. However, Nestclav DS Syrup is relatively safer to take with methotrexate, but only if prescribed by the doctor.
