About Navina JR Tablet

Navina JR Tablet belongs to the class of medications called “anti-emetics” primarily used to treat nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. It helps treat morning sickness (nauseous feeling during the first trimester) in pregnant women. Nausea is an uneasy feeling in which a person feels an urge to vomit, while vomiting is the body's natural response to discharge the stomach content forcefully.

Navina JR Tablet is a combination of two drugs, namely: Doxylamine succinate and Pyridoxal-5-phosphate (vitamin B6). Doxylamine succinate belongs to the class of antihistamines that work by blocking the natural chemical (histamine) in the body, thereby preventing nausea and vomiting. Pyridoxine/vitamin B6 deficiency may cause nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate works by increasing the level of vitamin B6 in the body and thus treating nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.

You are advised to take Navina JR Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it, depending on your medical condition. Sometimes, you may experience certain common side effects, such as dizziness, stomach pain, constipation, and dry mouth. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

• Take Navina JR Tablet at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal or as advised by your doctor.• It is advised to take Navina JR Tablet once daily at bedtime; however, follow your doctor's recommendation regarding the dosage and duration.• Swallow Navina JR Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.• Do not chew, crush or break it.

What if I have taken an overdose of Navina JR Tablet

Avoid exceeding the recommended dose as it could lead to an overdose. Symptoms of overdose may include restlessness, dry mouth, dilated pupils, drowsiness or sleepiness, dizziness, confusion, seizures, fast/irregular/pounding heartbeat, difficulty urinating or painful urination, muscle pain or weakness, fluid buildup in the body, dark red or cola-coloured urine. If you experience these symptoms or suspect you have taken an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

Do not take Navina JR Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents. Tell your doctor if you have a medical history of asthma, glaucoma, stomach ulcer, or a blockage in your gut (digestive tract), liver, and kidney problems before starting Navina JR Tablet . Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking Navina JR Tablet . Drive only if you are alert as Navina JR Tablet may make you feel dizzy. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Navina JR Tablet as it could lead to increased dizziness. Navina JR Tablet is not recommended in children below 18 years of age.

  • Limit taking foods and drinks that contain chocolate, alcohol, caffeine, fructose, or sorbitol, carbonated drinks, fried, and fatty foods. 
  • Do not have large meals at a time; instead, try having small and simpler meals at regular intervals, including fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet.
  • Practice yoga and recreation techniques to manage your emotional stress.
  • If you are lactose intolerant, avoid using dairy products since it can worsen your stomach discomfort.
  • If you cannot eat dairy products, you should include other calcium-rich foods like leafy greens, beans, nuts, and seeds.
  • Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration.
  • Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep.
