I have a 20-year history of depression and was later diagnosed with narcolepsy. In the US, my doctor prescribed Adderall 30mg twice a day, which greatly improved my symptoms, focus, and career. However, since returning to India in April 2016, I have been taking generic substitutes, but they are not providing the same energy or symptom relief. Could you help me understand why this is happening and what approach I should take?

Hello! Changes in energy, focus, or sleep control can happen when switching medicines or brands after moving between countries. Narcolepsy treatment may vary because some medicines available in the US are restricted or unavailable in India. Alternatives such as Modafinil, Armodafinil, or Methylphenidate may work differently for each person. It is important to consult a neurologist, sleep specialist, or psychiatrist with your previous prescriptions so they can safely adjust your treatment. Avoid changing doses or self-medicating without medical supervision.
