Metopar Syrup is a medicine available as a suspension or syrup to treat migraine headaches accompanied by nausea and vomiting. It contains paracetamol, which helps relieve migraine pain, and metoclopramide, which helps control nausea and vomiting while improving the absorption of paracetamol by helping the stomach empty more quickly. This medicine is intended to relieve symptoms during an acute migraine attack and should be used exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor, preferably at the first sign of a migraine attack for the best results. It can be taken with or without food. Resting in a quiet, dark room, staying well hydrated, and avoiding known migraine triggers may help improve symptom relief. Complete the prescribed treatment exactly as advised and do not take more than the recommended dose.
Most people tolerate this medicine well. Mild side effects such as drowsiness, tiredness, restlessness, or diarrhoea are usually temporary and improve as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, consult your doctor right away if you develop uncontrolled muscle movements, yellowing of the skin or eyes, signs of a severe allergic reaction, or any other unusual symptoms.
Before taking Metopar Syrup, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, or any blockage, bleeding, or tear in your stomach or intestines. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to paracetamol, metoclopramide, or any of the other ingredients.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking, including prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, herbal products, and supplements. Alcohol and medicines that cause drowsiness can increase the risk of side effects. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or an older adult, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
