Mentiset 4 mg Injection 2 ml is an antiemetic used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy. Nausea is a feeling of uneasiness in the stomach that often comes before vomiting. On the other hand, vomiting is the forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.

Mentiset 4 mg Injection 2 ml contains Ondansetron which works by blocking the action of serotonin, a chemical that stimulates the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) located in the brain. Thus, it prevents nausea and vomiting. 

Mentiset 4 mg Injection 2 ml will be administered by a healthcare professional. Do not self-administer. In some cases, Mentiset 4 mg Injection 2 ml may cause headache, constipation, a feeling of warmth or flushing, redness, and irritation at the site of injection. Most of these side effects of Mentiset 4 mg Injection 2 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Mentiset 4 mg Injection 2 ml should be given to children only in doses advised by the doctor based on the child’s body weight or body surface area.
