Lyfenac-SP Tablet 10's is used to reduce pain and inflammation due to bone or soft tissue injury, resolution of postoperative inflammation, oedema (swollen tissue with fluid) and pain. It works by blocking the action of the enzyme cyclo-oxygenase (COX), which causes pain and swelling in injured or damaged tissue. Also, it helps in the breakdown of a protein (fibrin), which is formed as a by-product of the blood clot at the site of injury. Thus, it causes thinning of the fluids around the injury site, thereby facilitating smoother fluid drainage in the swollen tissue. It may cause common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, indigestion, stomach pain, etc. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

How Lyfenac-SP Tablet 10's Works

Lyfenac-SP Tablet 10's combines three active ingredients that work together to tackle pain and swelling from different angles. The first active ingredient is aceclofenac is an non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It blocks cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are involved in making prostaglandins (body chemicals that cause pain and swelling). By reducing these chemicals, aceclofenac helps decrease pain, inflammation, and swelling The second ingredient is paracetamol, a well-known pain reliever and fever reducer. Paracetamol is believed to act mainly within the central nervous system to reduce pain perception and lower fever. Its exact mechanism is not completely understood and may involve effects on central prostaglandin pathways (natural chemicals that contribute to pain, swelling, and inflammation) and other pain-modulating systems. The third ingredient is serratiopeptidase, a proteolytic enzyme (an enzyme that breaks down certain proteins). Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme that has been proposed to help break down certain proteins involved in inflammation. Although it may contribute to reducing swelling in some conditions, the clinical evidence supporting its effectiveness in humans is still evolving and varies between studies.
