About Lomofen LB Tablet
Lomofen LB Tablet is an antidiarrheal medication primarily used to treat acute diarrhoea. It is also used to control diarrhoea caused by inflammatory bowel disease (a condition where the gut lining becomes inflamed) and to reduce fluid output in individuals with ileostomies (a surgical opening for waste to leave the body). Diarrhoea is a condition in which there is a frequent need to empty the bowels, characterized by loose and watery stools.
Lomofen LB Tablet contains two ingredients: Lactic acid bacillus (a probiotic) and Loperamide (an antidiarrheal). Lactic acid bacillus helps restore the balance of good bacteria in the gut, which may have been disrupted due to illness or antibiotic use. Loperamide works by targeting opioid receptors in the intestine to slow down contractions and reduce intestinal movement. This allows more time for your body to absorb water and salts, making stools less watery and reducing the frequency of diarrhoea.
You are advised to take Lomofen LB Tablet as long as your doctor has prescribed, based on your medical condition. You may sometimes experience common side effects of Lomofen LB Tablet , such as stomach pain, nausea, constipation, headache, and bloating. Most of these side effects will resolve gradually over time without requiring medical attention. However, you are advised to consult your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
Before taking Lomofen LB Tablet , inform your doctor if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Keep your doctor updated about your medications and medical history to help prevent potential side effects or interactions. Avoid taking Lomofen LB Tablet if you have ulcerative colitis (inflammation and ulcers in the colon), acute dysentery (blood in stools), diarrhoea with a high fever, or severe diarrhoea after taking antibiotics. Consult your doctor before taking Lomofen LB Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Lomofen LB Tablet may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so avoid driving until you are mentally alert. Also, avoid consuming alcohol while taking Lomofen LB Tablet .
