Levonat OZ 500mg/500mg Tablet belongs to the class of 'antibiotics', primarily used to treat diarrhoea and dysentery. It helps treat various bacterial and parasitic infections, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, intestinal, vaginal, urinary tract infections and genital infections. Diarrhoea is a condition that causes the frequent passing of loose or watery stools. Dysentery is an intestinal inflammation that leads to severe diarrhoea accompanied by mucus or blood in the stools. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body.

Levonat OZ 500mg/500mg Tablet contains two antibiotic medicines, namely: Levofloxacin and Ornidazole. Levofloxacin belongs to a class of drugs called quinolone antibiotics. It works by inhibiting an enzyme called gyrase, which is responsible for the growth and development of bacterial DNA. Ornidazole is an anti-amoebic/ amebicide (kills amoeba that causes amoebic dysentery) and antiprotozoal (fights against protozoal infections) medicine. • Diarrhea and Dysentery: Levonat OZ 500mg/500mg Tablet is used to treat gastrointestinal infections caused by bacteria and protozoa. It helps eliminate pathogens responsible for loose stools, abdominal cramps, and dehydration.
• Respiratory Tract Infections: Levonat OZ 500mg/500mg Tablet is prescribed for conditions like bronchitis and pneumonia, where mixed bacterial infections are suspected.
• Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Levonat OZ 500mg/500mg Tablet helps clear infections in the urinary system by targeting both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.
• Gynecological and Pelvic Infections: Levonat OZ 500mg/500mg Tablet is used in treating infections of the female reproductive tract, especially when caused by anaerobic organisms.

• Levonat OZ 500mg/500mg Tablet should be taken after meals, to reduce the chances of stomach upset.
