Lafix-O Tablet is used to treat the following conditions:

• Typhoid fever: It helps eliminate the bacteria responsible for this serious systemic infection (an infection that can spread throughout the body), reducing fever and systemic symptoms. Resistance patterns vary by region, and your doctor will determine whether this combination is appropriate based on current treatment guidelines.
• Urinary tract infections (UTIs): It targets and clears bacterial growth in the bladder and kidneys, relieving pain and frequent urination.
• Respiratory tract infections: It may be used to treat certain susceptible bacterial infections of the airways and lower respiratory tract when prescribed by a doctor. This combination is not a first-line treatment for all respiratory infections and is used only in specific clinically appropriate situations based on current treatment guidelines and local resistance patterns.
• Infections with digestive support: It treats target bacterial infections while actively preventing the severe diarrhoea and gut imbalance often triggered by strong antibiotics.

• Separate dairy products from your dose: Avoid consuming dairy products or calcium-rich drinks at the same time as your medicine, as calcium may reduce the absorption of the ofloxacin component. This effect is generally less significant than the interaction seen with calcium-containing antacids, but separating dairy products and your dose by about 2 hours is a sensible precaution. This interaction does not significantly affect cefixime absorption.

• Avoid taking antacids close to your dose: Do not take antacids containing magnesium, aluminium, or calcium within 2 hours of taking Lafix-O Tablet , as they can stop the medicine from working properly.
• Protect your skin from sunlight: Protect your skin from direct sunlight and avoid tanning beds while taking this medicine, as it can make your skin more sensitive to sunburn.
• Watch for nerve or nervous system symptoms: Contact your doctor promptly if you develop numbness, tingling, burning pain, confusion, severe mood changes, or other unusual neurological symptoms while taking this medicine.
• Serious safety warnings: The ofloxacin component has been associated with serious side effects, including tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, and central nervous system effects. Your doctor will carefully weigh the benefits and risks before prescribing this medicine.
