Kyopod 200mg/125mg Tablet XL contains Cefpodoxime proxetil and Clavulanic acid. Cefpodoxime proxetil works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby killing the bacteria. Clavulanic acid works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of Cefpodoxime proxetil against the bacteria. Together, Kyopod 200mg/125mg Tablet XL helps to treat bacterial infections.
Do not take Kyopod 200mg/125mg Tablet XL on your own, as self-medication may lead to antibiotic resistance, in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections.
Kyopod 200mg/125mg Tablet XL may cause Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea (CDAD). Treatment with antibiotics alters the normal flora, leading to overgrowth of Clostridium difficile; this causes diarrhoea. Drink lots of fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience prolonged diarrhoea with abdominal pain, stop taking Kyopod 200mg/125mg Tablet XL and consult your doctor.
