Hexibend Oral Suspension

Hexibend Oral Suspension belongs to the class of medications called 'anthelmintics' used to treat parasitic worm infections. Parasitic worm infections are intestinal worm infections that are caused by the ingestion of contaminated food and water.

Hexibend Oral Suspension contains albendazole and levamisole. Albendazole works by inhibiting tubulin polymerization, causing metabolic disruption and energy depletion in the parasite, leading to immobilization. Levamisole works by suppressing the worm's muscle's enzyme activity, leading to paralysis and death. This eventually leads to the death of susceptible helminths and thus prevents the growth of parasitic infections.

Take Hexibend Oral Suspension as prescribed by your doctor. The common side-effects of Hexibend Oral Suspension are nausea, vomiting, indigestion, diarrhoea, metallic taste, headache, dizziness, and stomach pain. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. If any of the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Avoid taking Hexibend Oral Suspension if you are allergic to 'albendazole', 'levamisole', or any ingredients present in it. It may cause dizziness, so refrain from activities that require you to stay alert. Hexibend Oral Suspension is not recommended in pregnancy. Before taking Hexibend Oral Suspension, inform your doctor about your complete medical history.
