Gramogyl Plus Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat diarrhoea and dysentery of bacterial, amoebic, or mixed origins. Diarrhoea is a condition characterised by loose and watery stools. Dysentery is an inflammation of the intestines accompanied by bloody diarrhoea.
 
Gramogyl Plus Tablet contains Norfloxacin, Tinidazole, and Lactobacillus. Norfloxacin prevents the bacteria from repairing and reproducing themselves. Tinidazole kills the bacteria by damaging their DNA. Lactobacillus helps balance the number of beneficial bacteria in the digestive tract (gut) to manage water loss (diarrhoea) due to antibiotics or infections. 
 
You can take Gramogyl Plus Tablet with or without food. Swallow Gramogyl Plus Tablet as a whole; do not crush or chew it. In some cases, Gramogyl Plus Tablet may cause some common side effects such as abdominal cramps, nausea, headache, dry mouth, and dizziness. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
 
Consult your doctor if you experience tendons pain, swelling, or inflammation, as Gramogyl Plus Tablet is associated with an increased risk of tendon rupture and tendonitis. Maintain a minimum gap of two hours between Gramogyl Plus Tablet and antacids and vitamin and mineral medicines containing zinc and iron. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Gramogyl Plus Tablet may cause dizziness and vision problems, so be cautious while driving.

• Treatment of Diarrhoea: Gramogyl Plus Tablet helps manage bacterial or parasitic infections causing frequent loose motions.
• Treatment of Dysentery: Gramogyl Plus Tablet is effective against amoebic dysentery, which results from contaminated food or water.
• Treatment of Bacterial Infections: Gramogyl Plus Tablet is often prescribed to treat various bacterial infections by disrupting the growth and reproduction of bacteria.
• Management of Urinary Tract Infections: Gramogyl Plus Tablet can be effective in treating urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by susceptible bacteria.
• Treatment of Respiratory Tract Infections: Gramogyl Plus Tablet can be utilised for managing infections in the respiratory tract, including sinusitis and bronchitis, caused by specific bacterial strains.

• Gramogyl Plus Tablet can be taken with or without food as advised by your doctor.

Do not take Gramogyl Plus Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents; if you had swelling or tearing of tendons while taking quinolone antibiotics. Gramogyl Plus Tablet is associated with an increased risk of tendon rupture and tendonitis. Consult your doctor immediately if you experience tendon pain, swelling or inflammation while taking Gramogyl Plus Tablet. Do not take Gramogyl Plus Tablet if you have myasthenia gravis as it may cause increased muscle weakness. Talk to your doctor before taking Gramogyl Plus Tablet if you have/had blood dyscrasia, peripheral neuropathy, heart, liver or kidney problems. Maintain a minimum gap of two hours between Gramogyl Plus Tablet and antacid, vitamin and mineral medicines containing zinc and iron. Do not take Gramogyl Plus Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Gramogyl Plus Tablet as it causes increased dizziness. Gramogyl Plus Tablet may cause dizziness and vision problems, so be cautious while driving.
