About Gemcal Nasal Spray

Gemcal Nasal Spray is a prescription nasal spray used to treat osteoporosis in women who have been postmenopausal for at least five years when other osteoporosis treatments are not suitable or cannot be tolerated. It helps slow bone loss, maintain bone strength, and reduce the risk of vertebral (spinal) fractures.

To achieve the best results, you should use Gemcal Nasal Spray exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The spray is administered into one nostril each day, alternating nostrils with each dose. It can be used without regard to meals. Maintaining an adequate intake of calcium and vitamin D, together with regular weight-bearing exercise, can further support healthy bones during treatment.

While using this medicine, you may experience mild nasal symptoms such as a runny nose, nasal irritation, or congestion. These effects are usually temporary. However, contact your doctor immediately if you develop persistent nosebleeds, severe nasal sores, or signs of a severe allergic reaction.
