Ganivian PFS 0.25 mg Injection is used in the treatment of Female infertility. The detailed uses of Ganivian PFS 0.25 mg Injection are as follows:

• Prevention of Premature Ovulation in Fertility Treatments: Ganivian PFS 0.25 mg Injection is used in women undergoing assisted reproductive techniques like IVF to prevent the ovaries from releasing eggs too early. It blocks the action of luteinizing hormone (LH), allowing eggs to mature properly before retrieval.
• Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation Support: Ganivian PFS 0.25 mg Injection is administered during the mid to late follicular phase of the menstrual cycle, typically alongside follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) therapy. This helps optimize the timing of ovulation and improves the chances of successful fertilization.

Ganivian PFS 0.25 mg Injection belongs to the group of medicines called antigonadotropin-releasing hormones used to treat infertility in women. It is indicated for the inhibition of premature luteinising hormone (LH) surges in women undergoing controlled ovarian hyperstimulation. Ganivian PFS 0.25 mg Injection contains Ganirelix, which works by inhibiting the action of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), resulting in the suppression of the LH. It prevents women from ovulating (release of the egg from the ovary) too soon during the stimulation of their ovaries to produce a mature egg.

• Use Ganivian PFS 0.25 mg Injection exactly as advised by the doctor. Ganivian PFS 0.25 mg Injection should be administered subcutaneously (under the skin), like the stomach or thigh.
• Swab the injection site with a disinfectant to remove any surface bacteria. Pinch a fold of skin with the index finger and thumb. Insert the needle at the base of the pinched-up skin at an angle of 45° to the skin surface. Once the needle has been correctly placed, push the plunger down slowly and steadily so the solution is correctly injected and the skin tissues are not damaged. Push the plunger down until the syringe is empty, and wait for 5 seconds.

Do not use Ganivian PFS 0.25 mg Injection if you are allergic to any of its components, if you are hypersensitive to gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) or a GnRH analogue, if you have a moderate or severe kidney or liver disease, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. During or following hormonal stimulation of the ovaries, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome may develop. There may be a slightly increased risk of an ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside of the uterus) in women with damaged fallopian tubes. Inform the doctor if you weigh below 50 kg or above 90 kg.
