About Gabapax Ointment
Gabapax Ointment is a combination medication used to relieve neuropathic pain. It helps in treating chronic pain caused by nerve damage in diabetes, shingles, and spinal cord injury. Neuropathic pain is a nervous system disorder caused by damage to sensory nerves. It is caused by chronic progressive nerve disease or due to infection or injury.
Gabapax Ointment is a combination medication that contains capsaicin, gabapentin, ketoprofen, methyl salicylate, and lidocaine. Capsaicin, a natural chili pepper extract, blocks pain messengers to nerves. Gabapentin, an anti-epileptic agent, alters nerve messages to the brain, relieving pain. Ketoprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), blocks chemical substances causing pain and swelling. Methyl salicylate, a topical rubefacient, temporarily relieves muscle or joint pain. Lidocaine, a local anesthetic, blocks nerve signals, numbing the area and providing pain relief.
Gabapax Ointment is for external use only. Take a pea-sized amount onto your fingers and apply it to the affected areas. Do not use Gabapax Ointment if you have had any recent heart surgery, as Gabapax Ointment can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. Gabapax Ointment may increase the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. Do not take Gabapax Ointment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. Gabapax Ointment is not recommended for children as safety and efficacy have not been established.
