Chronic idiopathic constipation is a condition where a person has infrequent, difficult, or incomplete bowel movements lasting for three months or more, without any known cause such as disease or medication.

Fitgut 1mg Tablet contains prucalopride, which works on the muscle walls of the gut to increase bowel movement, helping to restore normal bowel function and relieve chronic constipation.

Take Fitgut 1mg Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it to you. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as headache, diarrhoea, nausea, and abdominal pain. Most of these side effects will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Avoid taking Fitgut 1mg Tablet if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18 years old, as its safety is not established; Fitgut 1mg Tablet may cause dizziness and tiredness, so only drive if you feel alert, and always inform your doctor about your health and any medications you are using to prevent side effects or interactions.

Fitgut 1mg Tablet is used in the treatment of Chronic idiopathic constipation. The detailed use of Fitgut 1mg Tablet is as follows:

• Chronic Idiopathic Constipation (CIC): Fitgut 1mg Tablet stimulates bowel movements and improves colonic transit and gastric emptying.
• When Other Laxatives Fail: Fitgut 1mg Tablet is prescribed for adults who have not found relief from constipation despite using other laxatives.
• Relieving Symptoms: Fitgut 1mg Tablet helps to reduce symptoms related to constipation, such as bloating, discomfort, and straining during bowel movements.

• Fitgut 1mg Tablet can be taken with or without food.
• It is recommended to take Fitgut 1mg Tablet once daily or as advised by your doctor.
• Swallow Fitgut 1mg Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not break, chew, or crush it.

• Fitgut 1mg Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called gastrointestinal prokinetics, used to treat chronic idiopathic constipation (long-term constipation with no known cause).
