About Fasturo-D Tablet

Fasturo-D Tablet is used to treat the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate. Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland caused by the overproduction of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone in men.

Fasturo-D Tablet contains Tamsulosin hydrochloride and Dutasteride. Dutasteride shrinks the enlarged prostate, and Tamsulosin hydrochloride relaxes muscles in the prostate and neck of the bladder. Thereby, Fasturo-D Tablet treats enlarged prostate.

The most common side effects of Fasturo-D Tablet are dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, decreased sex drive or libido, runny/stuffy nose, reduced amount of semen/sperm, testicle pain/swelling, and increased breast size or breast tenderness. If any of these side effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor promptly.

Do not take Fasturo-D Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. Women or children should not take Fasturo-D Tablet . Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medications to prevent any potential interactions.

Uses of Fasturo-D Tablet

Fasturo-D Tablet is used in the treatment of Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The detailed uses of Fasturo-D Tablet are as follows:

  • Management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH): Fasturo-D Tablet helps to manage symptoms of enlarged prostate (BPH), like difficulty urinating, and improves quality of life.
  • Acute urinary retention: Fasturo-D Tablet treats acute urinary retention by relaxing prostate muscles and shrinking the prostate gland, thereby improving urine flow.
  • Management of urinary symptoms: Fasturo-D Tablet helps to relieve symptoms like frequent urination, urgency, weak urine flow, and incomplete bladder emptying.
  • Support for bladder function: Fasturo-D Tablet supports bladder function, particularly in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), by relaxing bladder muscles, improving urinary tract health.

Directions for Use

  • Fasturo-D Tablet should be taken 30 minutes after a meal.
  • It is usually taken once daily at the same time each day or as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Swallow Fasturo-D Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
  • Do not chew, crush, or break it.

Medicinal Benefits

  • Fasturo-D Tablet is a combination medication used to treat Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland in men.
  • It helps improve symptoms such as difficulty in starting urination, weak urine stream, frequent or urgent need to urinate (especially at night), and incomplete bladder emptying.
  • Dutasteride, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, lowers levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone responsible for prostate growth. This leads to a gradual shrinkage of the enlarged prostate, relieving pressure on the urinary tract.
  • Tamsulosin hydrochloride, an alpha-blocker, relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to pass urine and reducing urinary obstruction.
  • Fasturo-D Tablet reduces the risk of acute urinary retention (sudden inability to urinate) and lowers the likelihood of needing prostate surgery.
  • The combination of two different mechanisms provides more effective and sustained symptom relief compared to either drug used alone.
  • Overall, Fasturo-D Tablet significantly improves urinary flow and quality of life in men with BPH and helps slow the progression of the disease.

How Fasturo-D Tablet Works

Fasturo-D Tablet contains Tamsulosin hydrochloride (alpha-blockers) and Dutasteride (5-alpha reductase inhibitor). Tamsulosin makes it easy to pass urine by relaxing the muscles of the prostate gland. On the other hand, Dutasteride reduces the size of the enlarged prostate gland by lowering the production of dihydrotestosterone hormone, thereby relieving the symptoms of urinary incontinence. Together, Fasturo-D Tablet helps treat benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Storage
