About Esomecare Dsr 40/30 Cap

Esomecare Dsr 40/30 Cap belongs to the class of drugs known as Proton pump inhibitors, which reduce the amount of acid your stomach produces. It treats gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stomach ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (overproduction of acid due to a pancreatic tumour), duodenal ulcers, gastric ulcers, and Crohn’s disease-associated ulcers.

Esomecare Dsr 40/30 Cap is a combination of Esomeprazole and Domperidone that helps reduce stomach acid by blocking the action of an enzyme (H+/K+ ATPase, also known as the gastric proton pump), thus preventing the release of stomach acid and relieving symptoms of food pipe lining inflammation (esophagitis), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), or heartburn.

Not everyone who is taking Esomecare Dsr 40/30 Cap will get these side effects. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as dry mouth, stomach pain, diarrhoea, headache, and flatulence. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve over time. However, if you experience these side effects persistently, talk to your doctor.

Take Esomecare Dsr 40/30 Cap as advised. Your physician will decide the dosage based on your medical condition. You should take Esomecare Dsr 40/30 Cap 30 minutes before food.   • On long-term treatment, Esomecare Dsr 40/30 Cap may cause low magnesium levels, vitamin B12 levels, and might increase the risk of bone fractures; the doctor may advise regular tests for monitoring your condition.
  • Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Esomecare Dsr 40/30 Cap may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert.
  • Avoid caffeine-containing beverages (coffee, tea), spicy/deep-fried/processed foods, carbonated drinks, and acidic foods like citrus fruits/vegetables (tomatoes).
  • Esomecare Dsr 40/30 Cap should not be given to children as safety has not been established.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol along with Esomecare Dsr 40/30 Cap as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can elevate the production of stomach acid.
  • A prolonged intake of Esomecare Dsr 40/30 Cap is linked with a greater risk of Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea, so if you develop diarrhoea that does not improve, immediately consult a doctor.

  • Eat smaller meals more often.
  • Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Alcohol intake leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increasing acidity and heartburn.
  • Maintain a healthy weight by regular exercising.
