I have had a severe cough for five days. I have taken Corex, Dilosyn, and Elturyl syrups, along with montelukast and levocetirizine tablets, and have also tried salt and baking soda gargles, but my symptoms have not improved. Could you please advise on the next course of treatment?

Since your cough has not improved despite taking multiple medicines, it is advisable to consult a doctor for a proper examination to rule out infection, inflammation, or other underlying conditions. Using several cough syrups together is not recommended and may cause unwanted side effects without added benefit. In the meantime, continue supportive care such as warm fluids, steam inhalation, and adequate rest. Do not start antibiotics or any medications without proper medical advice.
