About Eberfine-M Cream

Eberfine-M Cream is a combination medicine used to treat skin infections caused by fungi. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and causes infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another).
 
Eberfine-M Cream contains Eberconazole (anti-fungal) and Mometasone (steroid). Eberconazole works by preventing the formation of fungal protective covering, thereby stops their growth. Mometasone inhibits the release of chemical messengers that cause inflammation and redness. Together, Eberfine-M Cream helps in treating fungal skin infections.

In some cases, you may experience common side-effects such as burning sensation, irritation, itching and redness at the site of application. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
 
Do not use Eberfine-M Cream if you had a skin reaction or irritation to any steroid medicine. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Eberfine-M Cream in more than prescribed doses or on a large area of skin for a longer duration as it may cause adverse effects. If Eberfine-M Cream comes in contact with eyes, nose or mouth, rinse with water immediately.

Directions for Use

• Eberfine-M Cream is for external use only. • It is usually applied 1-2 times daily or as prescribed by your doctor.• Clean and dry the affected area. Apply Eberfine-M Cream directly onto the affected area and gently rub it in until completely absorbed. • Wash your hands before and after applying this medicine. • If Eberfine-M Cream comes in contact with eyes, nose, or mouth, rinse with water immediately.

What if I have taken an overdose of Eberfine-M Cream

Though overdose is unlikely due to low systemic absorption, it is advised to avoid exceeding the recommended dose. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any unusual symptoms.

Drug Warnings

Do not use Eberfine-M Cream if you are allergic to any of the components. Inform your doctor if you have/had skin reaction or irritation to any steroid medicine; if you have glaucoma, diabetes, adrenal gland disorder, kidney or liver disease. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Eberfine-M Cream in more than prescribed doses or on a large area of skin for a longer duration, as it may cause adverse effects. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with a bandage unless advised by your doctor.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Regularly change your socks and wash your feet. Avoid shoes that make your feet sweaty and hot.
  • In wet places such as changing rooms and gym showers, avoid walking barefoot to prevent fungal infections.
  • Do not scratch the affected area of the skin, as it can spread the infection to other body parts.
  • Avoid sharing towels, combs, bedsheets, shoes or socks with others.
  • Wash your bed sheets and towels regularly.
  • Avoid getting in contact with harsh soaps, detergents and rough fabrics.

Consult your doctor before using Eberfine-M Cream if you are diabetic as it contains Mometasone (steroid). Steroids can alter blood glucose levels. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is advised while using Eberfine-M Cream.

Eberfine-M Cream should not be used for longer durations unless prescribed by a doctor. If your condition does not improve despite using Eberfine-M Cream for a week, consult your doctor, he/she may prescribe you an alternate medicine.

Avoid using Eberfine-M Cream with other topical products such as cosmetics, sunscreens, lotions, moisturisers, insect repellent creams, and other gels. Maintain a gap of 30 minutes between Eberfine-M Cream and other topical products.

Do not cover the treated skin with dressings after applying Eberfine-M Cream unless told by the doctor. Covering the skin can increase the amount of medicine absorbed through the skin leading to harmful effects.

Continue using Eberfine-M Cream for as long as your doctor has prescribed it to you. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty while using Eberfine-M Cream.
