Doxisia Capsule is used to treat Bacterial infections.
Doxisia Capsule contains Doxycycline and Lactobacillus acidophilus. Doxycycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that treats various bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which further inhibits bacterial growth. Lactobacillus acidophilus is a probiotic that help restores good bacteria and reduces stomach upset caused by antibiotics like Doxycycline.
A Doxisia Capsule should be used with proper caution and doctor consultation if you have any liver or kidney disease, gastrointestinal diseases, swallowing problems, and oesophagus diseases like hiatal hernia (stomach pushes through the diaphragm into the chest cavity), myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness), reflux, asthma or sulphite allergy, porphyria (genetic disease), and systemic lupus erythematosus (an autoimmune disease).
Do not stop using Doxisia Capsule even if you feel better until the doctor's advised course is finished. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
Doxycycline in Doxisia Capsule can affect the live vaccines like typhoid vaccine and decrease its effectiveness. Please consult a doctor before you start Doxisia Capsule if you are undergoing any vaccinations.
After taking Doxisia Capsule , it is advised not to lie down for at least thirty minutes so that Doxisia Capsule can pass quickly into the stomach and prevent irritation of the throat or oesophagus. If you face stomach upset issues while using Doxisia Capsule , take it with food.
Doxisia Capsule can make your skin more sensitive to the harmful effects of the sunlight. Hence it is advised to use sunscreen and wear protective clothing while using Doxisia Capsule . It is also recommended to avoid tanning booths and sunlamps.
Consuming milk and dairy products may decrease the absorption of Doxisia Capsule . However, if you notice any upset stomach while using this medication, you can take Doxisia Capsule with food. But avoiding milk and milk products will help.
You should take Doxisia Capsule for as long as your doctor prescribes it. The duration of treatment depends on the condition being treated. For most infections, it is commonly prescribed for 7–10 days. However, for conditions like acne (a skin condition that occurs when the hair follicles beneath the skin become blocked) or anthrax (a rare bacterial infection), it may be prescribed for a longer period.
There is no direct evidence suggesting that Doxisia Capsule causes weight gain. However, doxycycline (one of its ingredients) may cause a loss of appetite, which could indirectly affect your weight. If you notice any changes in your weight after taking Doxisia Capsule , please consult your doctor.
After taking Doxisia Capsule , waiting at least 1-2 hours before eating is recommended. This allows the antibiotic (doxycycline) to be properly absorbed, while the probiotic (Lactobacillus acidophilus) may help restore gut flora, potentially minimizing side effects. If you are taking Doxisia Capsule for gum infections or rosacea (a chronic skin condition that causes redness and acne-like bumps on the face), it is recommended to take Doxisia Capsule at least 1 hour before eating. Always consult your doctor for personalized advice.
You can take Doxisia Capsule with food to help reduce stomach upset. This medication should be taken with a full glass of water, and you should avoid lying down immediately after taking it.
For most bacterial infections, Doxisia Capsule typically begins to work within a few hours of taking it. However, depending on the severity of your condition, it may take several days to eliminate all the harmful bacteria and see full improvement. It is important to complete the full course of medication as prescribed by your doctor to achieve the best results.
Doxisia Capsule may cause diarrhoea as a common side effect. This occurs because Doxisia Capsule may disrupt the balance of gut bacteria, leading to digestive issues. Drinking plenty of fluids and eating non-spicy foods are recommended to manage diarrhoea. If diarrhoea is severe or persists, please consult your doctor.
Doxisia Capsule is usually taken once or twice a day, preferably in the morning or evening on an empty stomach (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals). Please consult your doctor for personalized advice.
Doxisia Capsule can be used in children, but only for those over 8 years old, as it may cause permanent discolouration of teeth or problems with bone growth in younger children. However, a doctor may recommend Doxisia Capsule for younger children in severe or life-threatening conditions, such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever (a bacterial disease spread by tick bites) or inhalational anthrax (a severe respiratory infection caused by inhaling spores of the Bacillus anthracis bacteria).
Yes, Doxisia Capsule is commonly prescribed to treat acne. It is an antibiotic that kills the bacteria that infect the pores and reduces the production of a certain oily substance that contributes to acne.
The common side effects of Doxisia Capsule include nausea (feeling sick), vomiting, and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects of Doxisia Capsule do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
Doxisia Capsule may interact with certain medications, including blood thinners (e.g., warfarin), drugs for treating skin conditions (e.g., acitretin, isotretinoin), heart-related medicines (e.g., digoxin), anti-seizure medications (e.g., phenobarbital, phenytoin), antacids, calcium and iron supplements, and laxatives. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list. To ensure safe treatment, it's essential to inform your doctor about all medications you're currently using, including supplements and over-the-counter drugs. Your doctor can help you manage potential interactions and provide personalized guidance.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid taking Doxisia Capsule unless recommended by a doctor. Consult your doctor. They will evaluate the benefits and risks and provide guidance tailored to your situation.
You should store Doxisia Capsule in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children.
