Doran-O Tablet contains Omeprazole and Ondansetron, which are used in the treatment of vomiting (being sick) and nausea (feeling sick) that usually occur after cancer chemotherapy, radiation treatment, or surgery. Omeprazole reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces and prevents excess acid from flowing back into the food pipe. Ondansetron works by blocking the action of serotonin, a chemical that stimulates the vomiting centre located in the brain. Thus, it prevents nausea and vomiting.

About Doran-O Tablet

Doran-O Tablet is used in the treatment of vomiting (being sick) and nausea (feeling sick) that usually occur after cancer chemotherapy, radiation treatment or surgery. It may also be indicated in conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and ulcers in the stomach or intestine. Nausea is an uneasy feeling in which a person feels an urge to vomit, while vomiting is forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.

Doran-O Tablet is a combination of two drugs, namely Omeprazole (proton pump inhibitor) and Ondansetron (anti-emetic). Omeprazole reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces and prevents excess acid from flowing back into the food pipe. Ondansetron works by blocking the action of serotonin, a chemical that stimulates the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) located in the brain. Thus, it prevents nausea and vomiting.

Take Doran-O Tablet as prescribed. Your doctor will advise you on how often you should take it based on your medical condition. Doran-O Tablet may cause common side effects such as headache, a feeling of warmth, constipation, diarrhoea, or flatulence (wind). Most of these side effects of Doran-O Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects worsen or persist, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to omeprazole, ondansetron, granisetron, dolasetron, pantoprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole, esomeprazole or other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, inform your doctor. Drive only if you are alert after taking Doran-O Tablet . If you are taking nelfinavir (for HIV infection) or apomorphine (for Parkinson’s disease), do not take Doran-O Tablet .
