It is also used to prevent deep vein thrombosis (blood clots in leg veins) and pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lung).

Dabiten 110 Capsule 10's contains Dabigatran etexilate that works by inhibiting the production of clotting factor Xa, also called thrombin. This prevents the conversion of fibrinogen (soluble protein) to fibrin (insoluble protein), thereby preventing blood clots.
