Cytobuz 500Mg Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called anti-fungal agents used to treat yeast and fungal infections caused by Candida and/or Cryptococcus. Fungal infection, also known as mycosis, is a disease caused by fungus.

Cytobuz 500Mg Tablet contains Flucytosine, which works by interfering with the synthesis of fungal protein and DNA. Thereby, it helps treat fungal infections.

In some cases, Cytobuz 500Mg Tablet may cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if any of the side effects persist or worsen.

The detailed uses of Cytobuz 500Mg Tablet are as follows:<br/>• Treatment of Serious Fungal Infections: Cytobuz 500Mg Tablet is used to treat systemic fungal infections such as cryptococcal meningitis and severe candidiasis, often in combination with other antifungal agents like amphotericin B.<br/>• Antifungal Action Against Yeast and Molds: Cytobuz 500Mg Tablet interferes with fungal DNA and protein synthesis, helping eliminate pathogens like Candida and Cryptococcus from the bloodstream, lungs, and central nervous system.<br/>• Adjunct Therapy in Immunocompromised Patients: Cytobuz 500Mg Tablet is used to support antifungal treatment in individuals with weakened immune systems, including those undergoing chemotherapy or organ transplantation.<br/>

Directions for Use

What if I have taken an overdose of Cytobuz 500Mg Tablet

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Cytobuz 500Mg Tablet may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, upper stomach pain, and unusual bleeding or bruising. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe these symptoms or think you might have taken too much. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.

Drug Warnings

Do not take Cytobuz 500Mg Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform the doctor if you have/had kidney or liver disease, bone marrow problems, blood cell disorder, weak immune system, electrolyte imbalance or if you are using any medicine which are irreversible inhibitors of dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase enzyme (DPD) such as brivudine, sorivudine and their analogues or have used them in the last 4 weeks.
