Cormet SR 25 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), heart-related chest pain (angina), irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia), and to protect the heart after a heart attack (myocardial infarction). Besides this, it may also help in relieving symptoms of migraine-related headache and tremors (fits). It contains Metoprolol, which helps in slowing down the heart rate, making it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body. This lowers the blood pressure and helps in reducing the risk of having a stroke, heart attack, or other heart or kidney problems in the future. In some cases, it may cause certain common side effects like dizziness, tiredness, diarrhoea, stomach pain, nausea, and headache. Cormet SR 25 Tablet is used in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), heart-related chest pain (angina), and irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia). Hypertension is a lifelong or chronic condition in which the force exerted by the blood against the artery walls becomes so high that it leads to heart disease.

Cormet SR 25 Tablet contains 'Metoprolol', which helps in slowing down the heart rate, making it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body. 

Not everyone who is taking Cormet SR 25 Tablet will get these side effects. In some cases, Cormet SR 25 Tablet may cause certain common side effects like dizziness, tiredness, diarrhoea, stomach pain, nausea, and headache. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

You can take Cormet SR 25 Tablet with food or without food. It should be swallowed as a whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, bite, crush, or break it. What if I have taken an overdose of Cormet SR 25 Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Cormet SR 25 Tablet as it may cause overdose. The symptoms of overdose include slow heart rate, difficulty breathing, trembling or dizziness. If you suspect you have taken overdose or notice signs of overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.

Drug Warnings

  • Do not take Cormet SR 25 Tablet if you are allergic to Cormet SR 25 Tablet or any other beta-blockers.
  • Avoid taking Cormet SR 25 Tablet if you have/had heart conduction, rhythm problems, uncontrolled/severe heart failure, blocked blood vessels, blood circulation problems, untreated pheochromocytoma, metabolic acidosis, low blood pressure, or prinzmetal angina.
  • Inform your doctor if you have asthma, COPD, diabetes, blood vessel disorder, slow heart rate, pheochromocytoma, myasthenia gravis, dry eye problems, kidney or liver impairment; if you are taking anti-depressants, other blood pressure-lowering medicines, or anti-arrhythmic agents.

  • Don't stop taking Cormet SR 25 Tablet without consulting your doctor. Suddenly stopping the use of Cormet SR 25 Tablet may cause changes in your heart rhythm and blood pressure, cause chest pain, or a heart attack. Your doctor will gradually lower your dose to help prevent these symptoms.
