About CLOVET M 50MG TABLET

CLOVET M 50MG TABLET is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). By lowering elevated blood pressure, this medication helps prevent serious cardiovascular complications like strokes, heart attacks, and kidney damage. It combines two active medicines that work in different ways to keep your blood pressure within a healthy, manageable range.

For best results, take CLOVET M 50MG TABLET exactly as prescribed, typically once daily. It is highly recommended to take this medication consistently at the same time every day, either with or without food. Combining this treatment with a heart-healthy diet low in salt and regular physical activity will significantly improve your blood pressure readings over time.

While taking CLOVET M 50MG TABLET, you may experience mild side effects like dizziness, fatigue, or cold hands and feet. These symptoms often improve as your body adjusts to the medication, but you should contact your doctor immediately if you experience persistent breathing difficulties, an unusually slow heart rate, or signs of liver damage.

Do not take this if you have a history of severe heart failure, certain heart rhythm disorders, severe asthma, or an inability to urinate. Before starting CLOVET M 50MG TABLET, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, diabetes, thyroid conditions, gout, or blood circulation problems.

Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can excessively lower your blood pressure and increase drowsiness. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, breastfeeding, or if you are an elderly individual, as special precautions or adjustments may be required.

How CLOVET M 50MG TABLET Works

CLOVET M 50MG TABLET contains two active components, metoprolol and chlorthalidone, which work together to lower your blood pressure. Metoprolol belongs to a class of medications called beta-blockers. It works by blocking the action of certain natural chemicals in your body, like epinephrine, on the heart and blood vessels. This slows down your heart rate and reduces the force with which your heart pumps, easing its workload. Chlorthalidone is a water pill (diuretic) that helps your body get rid of extra salt and water through urine. This process decreases the overall volume of fluid circulating through your blood vessels, which directly lowers blood pressure. Together, these two mechanisms provide a comprehensive and highly effective way to manage hypertension.
