Broxin 20mg/325mg Tablet is composed of two medicines: Dicyclomine (antispasmodic/anticholinergic agent) and Paracetamol (analgesic). Dicyclomine/Dicycloverine helps block the activity of certain natural substances that cause pain. Paracetamol has both analgesic (pain-relieving) and antipyretic (fever-reducing) properties, and it also reduces inflammation.
Common side effects of Broxin 20mg/325mg Tablet include experiencing dizziness, nausea (feeling sick), digestive problems (constipation, flatulence, diarrhoea), and skin reactions (rashes and hives). Broxin 20mg/325mg Tablet works by relaxing the muscles and inhibiting natural gut movements, thereby relieving muscle spasms and cramps in the stomach and intestine, abdominal pain, constipation and other gastrointestinal discomforts.
Antacids may lower the absorption of Broxin 20mg/325mg Tablet and reduce its efficacy. It is advised to administer antacid and Broxin 20mg/325mg Tablet at different times only if prescribed by your doctor. If you are supposed to administer antacids after meals, please give Broxin 20mg/325mg Tablet to your child before meals.
If your child is suffering from IBS, limit giving high-fibre foods, foods and drinks that contain chocolate, caffeine, fructose, or sorbitol, carbonated drinks, and fried and fatty foods. Do not give large meals. Instead, give small and simpler meals at regular intervals, including fresh fruits and vegetables in your child’s diet.
The use of Broxin 20mg/325mg Tablet can cause diarrhoea in some cases. In the case of diarrhoea, increase the amount of fluids your child is given, like plenty of water. If your child's diarrhoea persists, contact your doctor.
