Blupraz-L Capsule 15's is used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Gastroesophageal reflux disease occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus); this causes acidity, pain and heartburn.

Blupraz-L Capsule 15's contains Esomeprazole and Levosulpiride. Esomeprazole works by preventing the production of stomach acid. Levosulpiride works by increasing the stomach and intestinal movement and preventing the backflow of food and acid into the mouth.

In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as headache, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence, nausea and vomiting. You are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Blupraz-L Capsule 15's should not be given to children as safety has not been established.

• Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD): Blupraz-L Capsule 15's is used to treat acid reflux, heartburn, and irritation of the food pipe (oesophagus).
• Acidity: Blupraz-L Capsule 15's helps to reduce excessive stomach acid production and related discomfort.
• Heartburn: Blupraz-L Capsule 15's treats the burning sensation in the chest due to acid reflux.
• Peptic ulcers: Blupraz-L Capsule 15's helps in the healing of ulcers in the stomach and upper intestine by lowering acid production.
• Indigestion: Blupraz-L Capsule 15's improves digestion by reducing acid and promoting normal stomach movement.

• Blupraz-L Capsule 15's should be taken 1 hour before a meal, preferably in the morning.
• It is usually taken once daily or as prescribed by your doctor.
• Swallow Blupraz-L Capsule 15's as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, break, or open it.

• Do not take Blupraz-L Capsule 15's if you are allergic to any of its contents, if you are taking nelfinavir (anti-HIV), if you have a gastrointestinal haemorrhage, mechanical obstruction or perforation, epilepsy, mania, porphyria, or cardiac impairment.
• Inform your doctor before taking Blupraz-L Capsule 15's if you have severe liver or kidney problems; if you are due to have a Chromogranin A test; if you experience unexplained weight loss, stomach pain, indigestion, vomiting food or blood, or if you pass black stools.
• On long-term treatment, Blupraz-L Capsule 15's may increase the risk of bone fractures.
• Do not take Blupraz-L Capsule 15's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Blupraz-L Capsule 15's may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert.
• Blupraz-L Capsule 15's should not be given to children as safety has not been established.
• Avoid consuming alcohol along with Blupraz-L Capsule 15's as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can elevate the production of stomach acid.
