Blupidox 50 Dry Syrup belongs to the group of cephalosporin antibiotics indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Blupidox 50 Dry Syrup does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.

Blupidox 50 Dry Syrup contains Cefpodoxime proxetil, which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Blupidox 50 Dry Syrup works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, Blupidox 50 Dry Syrup kills the bacteria and helps in treating bacterial infections.

In some cases, Blupidox 50 Dry Syrup may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), and abdominal pain. Directions for Use

• Blupidox 50 Dry Syrup can be given 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Try giving it to your child with food to avoid stomach upset.• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication, or use it as per the labelled instructions.• Mix the dry syrup with boiled and cooled water up to the mark on the label and shake the bottle well.• Measure the prescribed dose using the measuring cup/dosing syringe/dropper provided with the pack and administer it orally to your child.• The solution should be used within 7 days of preparation.

Co-administration of Blupidox 50 Dry Syrup with the Cholera vaccine may reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine.

How to manage the interaction:
Talk to your doctor before receiving the Cholera vaccine if you are currently being treated with Blupidox 50 Dry Syrup or have been treated within the last 14 days. To ensure adequate vaccine response, you should not receive cholera vaccine until at least 14 days after you complete your antibiotic therapy.
